1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents on a visitor's behalf.

The content identifies official custodians such as Jasper County Civil/Records, Iowa District Court, the Iowa Department of Public Safety Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

• Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the pages
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
• Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
• Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
• Violate federal, Iowa, or local law through use of the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is forbidden and may be criminal. Iowa Code section 692A.121 specifically restricts misuse of Iowa Sex Offender Registry data against a listed person or household. Registry access supports public safety awareness, never vigilante conduct or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Jasper County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Its advertising partners are not offered here as tools for evaluating applicants, insurance risk, credit, or housing. You must not use site or linked-tool data to:

• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules
• Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
• Assess creditworthiness or insurance pricing
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Make a hiring or firing decision

Any legally permitted check for a regulated purpose must come from the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a particular situation. Ask a licensed Iowa attorney for legal counsel.

6. No Warranties

All website content is supplied "as is." We make no guarantee that:

• Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate
• The pages contain no errors, bugs, or security flaws
• The website will remain available without interruption
• Information is complete, accurate, or current at a given time

Criminal records can change when charges are filed or dismissed and when records are sealed or expunged. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. No website statement is an official representation by a court, sheriff, or government agency. Iowa Code chapter 22 governs access to records held by Iowa government bodies, and Iowa Code chapter 692 governs collection and dissemination of criminal-history data.

Links lead to sheriff pages, court systems, Iowa agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Following one leaves this site for a service we do not control. We are not responsible for its content, availability, fees, or handling of data. Review the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Jasper County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of this website, including reliance on information found here or through an outside service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from a claim, demand, or proceeding caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Iowa law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Iowa.
